I wanted to create an art piece that was influenced by pop art because thats my favorite style of art. I like the color and the element of abstractness. So I used that and outlines the shape of a gorilla and divided it into quarters and made the diagonal corners different colors. I've always been a huge nature freak i really like animals in their natural habitat, so I'm primarily picking animals that are from Africa, Australia, and Southern American. I used bristol paper as my material and colored pencil and black gel pen for the actual animal itself. I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to use watercolor pencils and turn it into a painting or if I wanted to use regular colored pencils. I chose regular colored pencils because i had already picked bristol paper. My project evolved by burnishing. I kept pressing the colored pencils down harder and harder and then blending them together. I think I could add a background to it or finish the one I started.
