Gelatin Prints

The subject is a printed design off of materials we could put on a gelatin block and roll in on that. The subject varies for each print. I made nine prints, three sets of three. I chose to use these specific materials because I thought it would have the most intriguing final product. I though that these specific materials would have the most depth and texture out of the whole bag. For materials i used a party streamer, fishnet, a pop-sickle stick, a feather, and foam letters and numbers. I used balance by figuring out where to place the materials. While creating this work I paid close attention to the pattern and balance so have an interesting outcome. I did this by strategically placing various objects to have the best composition. I wanted my artwork to look abstract so you would have to stop and look at it and i dd this by using lots of different materials on the block at a time. I like the way my ghost prints look because you ca really see all f the different materials i used. However i struggled with my first prints because it just looked like a lot if paint. If i created another piece of work like this I would put even more objects on. My artwork shows over the course of the prints that i learned how to add contrast and balance to my gelatin prints.
