So given the circumstances I wanted to do something that related to my life a little more specifically. My grandmother and I spent the last four weekends (since e-learning has begun) making fabric masks for my moms work and out families. So I thought it would be rewarding to share that with everyone. This project relates to my life because it's something that is affecting everyone and affecting me and if there's anything I can do to help I want to.

For the first part of the project I looked up the silhouette of a sewing machine and sketched that on my watercolor paper. Then I took a watercolor palette and assorted sizes of paintbrushes and painted the background a yellow-brownish color so that it would look like an old piece of paper. I was going to the old western vibes. Then I outlined the pencil marks I made of the words and the sewing machine in a fine point black sharpie. After I finished outlining everything I colored all the outlined stuff in black watercolor, again going for the old western look. And when the painting was done and dry I went back in with the same fine point sharpie and outlined everything again to make the edges look sharper.

Finally I experimented with the process by figuring out what to write for words and how to space it. I didn't want to write too much because I wanted you to stare that the sewing machine before reading all the words. I think that my project evolved by going back in and cleaning up all the edges. I want my next step to me outlining the sewing machine with a silver pen and maybe adding some buttons for more detail.
