Maui Animal Hospital

I picked a prompt that said to draw an animal with a cheetah body, a dog tail, a pigs head, and bear feet. After I drew the animal I added a background so t6he animal wouldn't look like it was floating. the story behind my work is a cross between my favorite place, Hawaii, and my moms animal hospital lobby. I drew the lobby the best I could from my memory and added the maui touch to it. this project relates to my life because it has little pieces from some of my favorite places and memories. The work was made from first outlining in a light 2H pencil, and then after going over the sketchy lines in a black fine point gel pen. After I used more gel pens and colored the animal and left the background white. I used my imagination for the most part. I did use photo references because I wanted the viewers to be able to recognize the different parts of the animal as they were looking at it. My project evolved from pencil sketches to fine point pen lines. I think my next steps could be to add more contrast to the background and the animal and add more detail and definitely more color.
