The ideas visually evident in my work are the united states map, and the American flag. I knew I wanted to make the united states but I had no idea where I wanted it to go. I added the stars (50) to each state where the capital is located and divided the outline of the country into 13 sections coloring 7 red and leaving 6 white. I like to travel and recently I went to Hawaii. I figured it would be cool to do a map of the United States because because of the places I've been. I used pen and colored pencil to create this project. I started this project as a design on my laptop and I couldn't figure out how to get it so I liked it, so I took what I started and drew it out. I think that my project would've been stronger if I had had the patience to figure it out on my laptop because I don't really like how this project ended up either. If I were to take this further I think I think I would add the water around the continent, put more detail into the states, and add more layers of colored pencil and burnish those.
