Mixed Media

I made a drawing of roses out of different mediums. In this drawing I used a 2H pencil to outline the flowers before the charcoal and the india ink. I also used india ink and charcoal after I planned out where I wanted those two different mediums to go. Different techniques I used are outlining, drawing, blending and very little painting. I used shape, space value and different textures in my drawing. To add interest I picked an image that would be harder to draw. the completed work makes me feel proud because I really feel like I pushed my skills and tried something new. By creating this work I learned that charcoal smudges really easily and you have o use multiple layers to make the charcoal look thought out and well placed and completed and make it so you can't see the charcoal pencil and charcoal streaks in the paper. In the future I want to use just charcoal so it doesn't look like it does now because I want the streaks on the paper to be gone.
