For those of us who go to school near Temple’s campus, we've heard about the plans to build a football stadium. While I don't live in North Philadelphia, I understand why many in Carver's neighborhood oppose Temple's plans. When I was younger, I lived in South Philadelphia in PHA. PHA offers public housing for those who need it. Even though my family and I weren’t about to be evicted so that a football stadium could be built, I understand the importance of staying in my neighborhood.
One local clergyman, Reverend, who has a church in North Philly, talked about how he and other people had trouble trusting Temple because of their Fox Business School Scandal. Temple’s past transgression clearly is having a negative effect on the relationship they’re trying to build with the locals.
One action that I think is the most important one is to fight back. I believe that we need make our voices heard even more. We need to let the people know how we feel.
