Students showcase culinary skill, creativity, and attention to detail in seasonal café-themed challenge
As part of their recent mock assessments, Year 10 Food students were challenged to plan, prepare, cook, and present nutritious, seasonal dishes suitable for a café setting. The results were truly impressive, reflecting a wide range of culinary skills, creativity, and a clear understanding of food presentation and nutrition.
Highlights included:
Tia, whose presentation was outstanding, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and a professional finish.
Ryan, who produced restaurant-quality ravioli, expertly filled and cooked to perfection.
Leanna, who impressed with her buttery, well-textured shortcrust pastry.
Parsa, who served a tender, well-seasoned basa fillet, carefully cooked to retain moisture and flavour.
Rachael and Alex, who delivered epic burger buns—light, fluffy, and perfectly shaped—adding a gourmet touch to their dishes.
The standard across the board was incredibly high, and all students should be proud of their hard work and progress. Well done, Year 10!
