This week we held our Year 11 Leavers’ Assembly—an emotional and joyful occasion to mark the end of a truly memorable chapter for this fantastic year group.
It has been an amazing journey since I first took over the year group back when they were just starting out as young Year 9s. Watching them grow into the confident, thoughtful and resilient young adults they are today has been a privilege. They now leave us not only with qualifications but with the character, strength and determination to take on whatever comes next.
Over the past three years, this year group has overcome significant challenges—both individually and as a collective. Whether navigating disrupted learning, personal setbacks, or adapting to change, they have consistently shown maturity and perseverance. These experiences have shaped them into a stronger, more prepared group, ready to face the opportunities and challenges their futures will undoubtedly bring.
One of the highlights of the assembly was hearing the heartfelt messages from their form tutors. It was lovely to reflect on the many positive memories, the personal growth of individuals, and the strong sense of community within each form. These messages reminded us of just how proud we are of what our students have achieved—not only academically but also in how they’ve supported one another.
To Year 11—thank you for your energy, your spirit, and everything you’ve contributed to Onslow St Audrey’s. We wish you every success and happiness in the exciting journey ahead. -
Still trying not to cry!
