As part of our commitment to ensuring that our students are well-prepared for their post-16 pathways, we have been organising a series of college visits for Year 11 students to Oaklands College. These trips are designed to give students an in-depth look at further education options and help them make informed decisions about their next steps.
Recently, students visited Oaklands College campuses in St Albans and Welwyn Garden City, where they participated in subject taster sessions, experienced campus life, and met with subject teachers.
These sessions provided students with valuable hands-on experience in areas of interest, helping them to gain a clearer understanding of the courses available to them after Year 11.
The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the opportunity to explore their options in a real-world setting. By visiting the campuses, students have been able to picture what college life might look like, which is an essential part of their decision-making process.
We are excited to announce that more trips will be taking place after the October half term, providing additional opportunities for students to explore different subject areas and gain further insight into life after Year 11.
