Dear Parent / Carer,
This newsletter is a tribute to the huge variety of activities that Onslow St Audrey's students and staff have been engaged with over the last eight weeks. It has been a long and very productive half-term. Our students have risen to the academic challenges created in their lessons on a daily basis, and have contributed so much more to our school community through the extra-curricular and super-curricular activities that they have undertaken. You can read about their many and varied activities in the news articles below. Â
I am immensely proud of our students for the tremendous commitment they have shown to our school community this half-term. Some of my proudest moments have been in the five headteacher commendations I have awarded to students who have helped members of the wider Hatfield community who they came across in distress at a particular moment. With no thought for their own glory, these students have given their time and effort to ensure that children or elderly people, whom they did not know, were safe and looked after. Nothing epitomises the spirit of OSA better than these acts of unsolicited kindness.
Autumn is a time of year when we all have the opportunity to consider our own priorities anew:
"There is something so special in the early leaves drifting from the trees - as if we are all allowed a chance to peel, to refresh, to start again." - Ruth Ahmed
I wish you a restful and enjoyable half-term break.
