Year 7 have been diving headfirst into the art of portraiture, playing with all sorts of media to master the magic of 3D forms.
Year 8 has been studying surrealism, mixing up traditional juxtaposition with digital Photoshop collages.
Year 9 is bustling with creativity, whipping up urban masterpieces inspired by the genius of Stephen Wiltshire using mixed media.
Year 10 Art students are on a journey through the vibrant world of Michael Hensley, crafting research pages and thrilling monoprint and wax resist creations.
Year 10 Graphics students have been bending and twisting text like pros, crafting mind-blowing typographic portraits with the help of clipping masks.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 Art students deserve huge congratulations for their beautifully detailed ceramic pieces, decorated with an array of vibrant glazes. Their themes ranged from Food and Containers to Natural and Man-made Forms. And there’s more to come — several pieces are still awaiting their final glaze, so stay tuned for even more amazing creations.
We’re also excited to announce that KS3 Art Club will be back up and running after half-term, led by Miss Williams. The club takes place every Wednesday after school in C12 and next term will have a focus on Textiles, Interiors, Fashion, and Print — all are welcome!
Finally, we are thrilled to invite students, families, and friends to our End of Year Creative Arts Exhibition, taking place on 1st July. This special evening will showcase the incredible work of our Year 11 and Year 13 students. And it’s a double celebration — we’ll also be joining forces with our brilliant Music Department for a Summer Concert, offering a wonderful fusion of sound and colour. The exhibition will be open throughout the evening. Keep an eye on our social media for more details!
