On Wednesday 20th November nine OSA Sixth Form students competed in their first mock trial at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. We competed against three other schools, Stanborough, Oaks and Fernhill in two semi finals with the winners taking each other on in the final. The day centred around a mock trial in Anglia Ruskin University's bespoke court room but we also had the chance to tour the school and find out more about student life.
The students were incredible in their preparation, creating persuasive arguments and compelling speeches. The judge praised our attention to detail and the way we had conducted ourselves in court. The OSA team successfully defended their client, beating Stanborough along the way and then took on Oaks in the final. Unfortunately Oaks had the more persuasive arguments this time and took home the trophy, but our students made us all so proud with their work ethic and dedication to their preparation.
We have been invited back next year and the students have already started to think about what they might do. They are also looking at attending a summer school at ARU for Business and Law where they can get further insights into Higher Education.
