On Friday 7th September the whole of Year 12 attended the University of Hertfordshire's Wayfinder Day. Throughout the day, the students were treated to an engaging and interactive discussion on topics such as Why University?, an introduction to UCAS, choosing courses and Student Finance. Before lunch they were taken on a tour of the campus to find out what it is like to be a true university student.
They looked at the student accommodation, the student union and a particular favourite; the university's new flagship building - Spectra. This state of the art building is home to Physics, Engineering, Computer Science and their custom built F1 car.
Continuing on the theme of uni life, the students were allowed to relax over lunch in their food court before heading back to meet the student ambassadors for a QnA. All students really enjoyed themselves; Ollie and Caiyden told us that they really enjoyed the campus tour as they were able to find out about their facilities and see their accommodation. They felt that the interactive questions (competition) made the day really engaging, and some students were very competitive which ensured they were listening and learning so they could get higher marks and win the prize.
