On 21 January, the Danes Educational Trust held its third Learner Voice Council (LVC) Primary Induction Day, hosted at De Havilland Primary School. Our Sixth Form Student Leadership team delivered a session on team-building for all the LVCs across the trust. The session provided essential tools for young leaders as they embark on their LVC journey.
We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form leaders for taking the initiative to lead a team-building session for primary school students and a research skills session for secondary school students. By leading these sessions, our Sixth Form students are not only inspiring the next generation of young leaders but also developing their own leadership abilities. These experiences are invaluable in helping them grow both personally and professionally, while contributing to the overall success of the Learner Voice Council.
Now in its fourth year, the Learner Voice Council serves as a platform for students to influence teaching and learning across their schools. The LVC empowers students to make meaningful changes by conducting research through planning, auditing, implementing, and evaluating.
This week, representatives from the Learner Voice Council (LVC) led assemblies to share their learning missions and the progress they have made so far. These assemblies provided a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their journeys, showcase the impact of their research, and celebrate the positive changes they’ve helped implement or plan to implement within the school. It’s inspiring to see how their efforts are shaping Teaching and Learning for their peers.
