On Friday 18th October, Onslow St Audrey’s School hosted an incredible Careers Fair, bringing together over 27 employers from a wide range of sectors. This event was an invaluable opportunity for our students, spanning from Year 9 to the sixth form, to gain firsthand insights into the world of work and explore potential career paths.
The fair aimed to bridge the gap between education and the workplace by giving students the chance to engage with local, regional, and national employers. Companies shared information about their industries, offered advice on career planning, and highlighted work experience, apprenticeship, and job opportunities.
Students were particularly encouraged to make the most of this experience by preparing questions and identifying employers they were keen to speak to. Many students took advantage of the wealth of knowledge on offer, with Year 10 and Year 12 students focusing on securing potential work experience placements. The event featured employers from a variety of sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, public services, business, and early years education, ensuring that students could explore careers aligned with their interests.
The Careers Fair was a tremendous success, and we are confident that it provided our students with valuable insights and connections to support their future decision-making. We would like to extend our thanks to the employers who attended and helped make this event such a meaningful experience for our students.
