Over the past two weeks, our Year 10 students have been taking part in work experience placements, gaining valuable insights into the world of work and developing essential employability skills. Work experience is an important milestone in every student’s journey, helping them to build confidence, understand the expectations of the workplace, and make more informed decisions about their future career paths.
A special highlight this year was the incredible opportunity three of our students had to work with Jacobs, a global leader in engineering, design, and technology solutions. Jacobs delivers innovative solutions to tackle the world’s most complex challenges – from infrastructure and sustainability to aerospace and defence – and employs over 60,000 professionals worldwide.
Our students spent the week at Jacobs’ in the Stevenage office, where they attended professional meetings, tackled real-world problem-solving challenges, created and refined their CVs, and even delivered a presentation to Jacobs colleagues at the end of the week. The feedback from Jacobs has been exceptional, praising the students’ engagement, creativity, and professionalism.
A huge well done to all three – you did yourselves and our school proud!
