We had the incredible privilege of welcoming Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier—former Chief of the Air Staff for the Royal Air Force to OSA for an inspiring talk with our Key Stage 3 students.
Sir Stephen, who spent over 40 years serving in the RAF, shared his remarkable journey from flying fast jets to becoming the top officer in the entire Royal Air Force. He spoke with passion and energy about the values that helped him succeed: dedication, teamwork, leadership, and never giving up—even when things felt challenging.
Our students were absolutely captivated as Sir Stephen described some of his experiences, including leading missions and helping to shape the future of the RAF. He also took time to answer questions, offering thoughtful and encouraging advice on everything from staying focused in school to setting big goals in life.
It was a truly unforgettable experience. Sir Stephen’s visit reminded us all that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. He showed us that leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about listening, making good decisions, and lifting up others around you.
We are incredibly grateful to Sir Stephen for giving up his time to speak with our students and for leaving them feeling motivated and inspired to aim high and dream big.
