I am from Virginia Beach and am 20 years old. I have two older brothers and a twin sister who also attends ODU with me. I graduated from Kellam High School in 2019 and transferred to the Virginia Beach campus of Tidewater Community College in the fall of 2019.
After getting my Associates Degree of Liberal Arts, I graduated from Tidewater Community College in Spring 2021 and transferred to Old Dominion University, where I am currently majoring in history with the main concentration in secondary education. My goal is to return to my old high school and teach tenth-grade history.
Spare Time:
I enjoy going to the beach with my friends in my spare time as well as writing poetry, watching television, listening to music, and reading books. My favorite bands to listen to are The 1975, Chase Atlantic, and Cigarettes After Sex. I also love learning about history and enjoy reading about historical figures, particularly those of Indigenous and/or African ancestry.
At this given time, I am studying to become a high school history teacher and want my students to be successful. I will be a teacher who loves their students and wants them to succeed. I will provide my students with the tools and materials that they will need to prosper in my class while also providing a safe space in the classroom for them to learn and be themselves. My teaching methods will be primarily teacher-centered, but it will also be student-centered so that the students will be able to learn and interact better. In terms of educational philosophy, my philosophies will be perennialism and social reconstructivsim because I want to teach my students about the things that have happened in the past, as well as showing them that history is repeating itself in the present.
I wish to accomplish and form healthy bonds with my students. I want my students to be able to come to me about their problems and know that they are cared for and loved. I do not want my students to feel like I don't care, because I do. I care about them and their futures and will do my best to make sure that they know that. I want my students to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. I want my students to be able to apply what they will learn in my class to their future classes and the outside world. Lastly, I want my students to be proud of their achievements and know that I am proud of them too.

To Answer Some Of Your Questions:
I graduated from the Virginia Beach campus of TCC.
I decided to teach 10th-grade history because world civilizations is my favorite part of history. I did not really know what part of history I wanted to teach until my freshman year at TCC, and I had an amazing professor who made me love world civilizations.
