1st period: Teach about immediate family members by the song. Teach the idea of the family tree. Students will be given a handout as a homework. They will then draw a picture of everyone that lives in their households.
2nd period: This is an arts and crafts period. They will fill out a family tree that they can present the next class. They can bring markers to add some color. Review the sentences they will be using in the next class “He is my father/mother.”
3rd period: Oral assessment. Students can bring their family tree to the teacher and answer a simple question. “Who is he/she? What is her/his name?” (Just a name is a good answers)
Vocabulary: Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Grandmother, Grandfather.
Sentence Pattern:

S: He/She is my father/mother...etc.
