1st period: Introduce the idea of wind energy and wind turbines. Brief explanation of both. Show videos to help show and explain the ideas. Have a race using paper balls and fans to physically use wind energy to move something.
2nd period: Students will use this time to make their pinwheels.
3rd period: Assessment class. Students will go outside and run with their pinwheels to use wind power to move them. They will then say their target sentence.
