527 – Practical Law – 0.5 credit

· Semester – Grades 10, 11, 12

This course will provide background information about the judicial system and how citizens interact with that system. It will provide practical information and problem solving opportunities that develop in students the knowledge and skills to better prepare them for survival in a law saturated society. The course will include case studies, mock trials, role-playing opportunities, small group exercises, and visual analysis activities. Community resource people including lawyers, judges, and law enforcement officers will be utilized. The possibility exists for field visits to courts, law libraries, and law enforcement facilities.
