· Full Year – Select - Grades 10, 11, 12 - Fee

Journalism is the study of writing geared toward newspapers and online media. These skills are useful for any number of careers, including: TV production; magazine and newspaper writing; public relations; advertising; marketing; and business. Much of this class will be taught in a lab setting where students will immediately put into use what they have learned in class in the “Eye of the Gale". There is an expectation that the student will work outside of the school day to gather, write, and edit stories. Eligible students will be inducted into Quill and Scroll, the high school journalism honor society. It is recommended that students have earned a B- or higher in College Prep English or Mass Media to enroll in the class.
