Economics Advanced Placement is a select course that focuses on giving students a college-level introduction to the economic system in the United States. The course is structured to give students a fundamental understanding of microeconomic and macroeconomic thought in order to prepare students to analyze how individuals, businesses, foreign countries, and the government interact in the global economy. By the end of the course, students will have developed the necessary critical-thinking skills to be able to survey the current economic condition in order to prescribe the appropriate adjustments needed to help reach economic goals of low unemployment, low and stable inflation, and economic growth. Students must take the AP Macroeconomics examination upon completion of this course.
