Current Events is an elective course designed to broaden the student’s knowledge of international, national, state and local affairs. It is through cause and effect that daily occurrences can impact the future. Specific areas of concentration include the federal government, domestic policy issues, and foreign policy issues. Topics for discussion and analysis will also include science, sports, economy, education, media, prisons and punishment, justice, militarism and all areas of social science. A weekly periodical will be used as a current source to examine events as they occur.
