ECE II - Early Childhood Education II – 2 credits

  • Infant and Toddler: Students will create and maintain safe, healthy, responsive learning environments for infants and toddlers. They will design age-appropriate classrooms; build relationships with families, caregivers and community partners; and encourage the growth and development of young children. Throughout the course, regulations and guidelines impacting preschools and daycares will be examined.


  • Health, Nutrition, and Safety: Students will establish and maintain a physically and emotionally safe and healthful environment for young children. They will learn skills in first aid and CPR, identify signs and symptoms of common health issues and diseases, and develop meal and snack menus appropriate for young children of different ages and stages of development. The effects of nutrients on children’s growth and development will also be emphasized. Students will receive certifications First Aid/CPR/AED, Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness, and Communicable Disease Prevention and Awareness.
