Formål:
Formålet med forløbet er at få indblik i Japans særlige kultur og historie - herunder styreformer og samfundsorganisering - for derigennem at opnå en forståelse for landets ageren i 2. verdenskrig - og måske også for, hvorfor krigen sluttede med 2 atombomber over Japan. Der vil desuden være fokus på historiebrug og formidling i Japan. Det er et forløb, der tager udgangspunkt i samfund og kulturer uden for USA og Europa.

Redegøre for sammenhænge mellem den lokale, nationale, regionale, europæiske og globale udvikling
Reflektere over samspillet mellem fortid, nutid og fremtid samt over mennesket som historieskabt og historieskabende
