Longsword (V): The King's Rebels by David Pilling Review

The previous installments in the series were never great, but they were interesting. This is not. There are really no characters to speak of, no plot, just a novellized version of "the fall of Wales". It has the feel, and the quality, of a book whereas the author picked up a history book, copied the facts, and then tried to make it into a novel, without much success. Pilling has done better, in fact he has done severalmuch much better

I have made it a practice to read David Pilling's books concerning historical fiction. The King's Rebels was as good as his other books, full of intrigue and spycraft. If you enjoy ancient books on the Roman Legions, or action books written about ancient European history you will enjoy this book. Another great job by Pilling.Joe Corsoauthor of Lafitte's Treasure

Hugh Longsword isn't nearly as romantic as the 20th century model but he appears as credible and very true too his times. This book is not for the faint hearted or those in need of safe spaces or political correctness. It's an amazing journey of an evolving human in tumultuous times.

Poor Emma truly led a benighted life - she had no real chance. As he did much of the time with onetime enemies, Rex Edward used his former enemies to fill vassal positions.

This is pure theft, books are way to expensive! 3.59 for 180 pages book when you can buy 1200pages seris for 1.19?! No thank you!
