Organic Chemistry as a Second Language by David R. Klein Review

I used the 4th edition for my first semester of organic chemistry and it helped me get through the class with ease, I'm using the 5th edition for my second semester and the biggest difference is the addition of detailed solutions which are immensely helpful.

Seriously the best thing to ever happen to Organic Chemistry. If you're not doing well, or just having some difficulty with it, this book will bring you up at least a letter grade. Step-by-step instruction with understandable explanations. Plenty of practice problems and detailed solutions. Worth every cent of the $35- seriously far more worth it than the actual text book. The actual text book became a glorified paper weight once I found this book. This is the only way I made it through Orgo (with a good final mark!) This covers first semester orgo, I also highly recommend the 2nd semester book.

I purchased this book after taking Organic I --and struggling through it--to help me prepare for Organic II. I also purchased the second semester topics eighth edition as well. I learned more in the first few chapters of this book than in an entire semester of Ochem1. The explained solutions are SO helpful and I was learning at a much quicker pace than I was with my professor. My only regret is not buying this sooner!!! 10000/10 I recommend this to anyone and everyone taking organic chemistry. Even if you're in ochem 2 this helps solidify topics that were hard in first semester that will be built upon in ochem 2.

I bought this since Im taking organic chemistry this semester. My orgo profesor is very hard to understand and essentially I have to teach myself (which college course isnt like this though). The book explains every chapter perfectly and gives you practice problems to work in order to make sure you fully understand it. I definitely recommend and ill also be purchasing the second semester topic as well.

The best book you will ever buy/rent to get you through Organic Chemistry. Seriously you won't regret this. It'll bring you up a letter grade at least. See my review for the 1st semester edition for more detail. Orgo sucks, but this makes it suck a whole lot less; In fact, it made Orgo just about tolerable.
