I am not trained in entomology, let alone sub specializing in moths. Nonetheless I spend a lot of time photographing the insects and arachnids in my neighborhood, trying to learn as much as I van about the underlying biology.The book is not a field guide for moth identification. However, it provides a wonderful look at all aspects of moth biology and their interaction with their environment. The photography provided a great insight into the beauty of these Lepidoptera, making me want to get outside even in the winter to see what I might find.

I most liked that finally books exclusively about moths are available and this is a very nice addition as well. All too long mother were combined in books with their more popular and now classic relatives the butterflies. Now these books can focus more on the diversity of moths, as beauties in their own way as well as their astonishing diversity, ecology and evolution previously underappreciated by most. I liked the book use of colorful and detailed photographs and illustrations depicting various aspects of moth morphology and anatomy. Well done.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  if you love moths then you’ll probably like this book. has a decent amount of moth images and very informative points about moths. the pages are semi gloss which feels nice to the touch. i gave it 4 stars just because i expected more moth pictures so i could leave it open for display.
