"Moral Questions of the Bible" is a chapter by chapter response to most of the pressing cultural moral questions of our day. In that regard, this books is a biblical perspective on some pressing philosophical and theological issues. The goal of the book is to provide biblical answers to moral questions, but to do so in accordance with the context of Scripture.•The first section begins with laying the groundwork of a theology of morality in the Bible. Is all of Scripture timeless and fixed? Can the Bible speak to morality? The rest of the book categorizes dozens of moral questions into big bucket categories. Children (abortion, infertility, pastors and rebel kids), Sex and Marriage (sex among singles, homosexuality, Christian marriage, polygamy, divorce, wifely submission), Church Issues (female leadership, tolerance, disciplines), Personal Vices (racism, gluttony, crude language), For Others (effeminacy, hospitality, slavery, vegetarians, retirement).•There's a ton of chapters I didn't mention above. The chapters in this book are short and concise. David gets to the heart of the matter quickly and sufficiently. As is expected for most of these topics, the biblical evidence is clear and convincing. Short and to his point, which I can appreciate. Leaves much to be desired and a significant amount of information left unsaid. I encourage anyone who has questions regarding their beliefs to ask those questions and seek answers. There’s some good information here but there’s a lot missing. I encourage more personal, in depth, research to be done by anyone asking questions. I honestly can’t recommend this book and that’s disappointing. I expected so much more.

Dr. Instone-Brewer covers several topics — many of them are difficult ones. Yet, he keeps each section short and to the point. He doesn't try and dazzle us with his Bible knowledge (though I did learn quite a lot!), nor does he try and say more than the Bible does.For anyone who wants a short, easy, yet deep dive into current cultural issues, I'd recommend this book!
