CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services (2 Year Course)
Delivered onsite in partnership with Savile (RTO: 45452)
The Certificate III in Community Services (VET) provides foundational skills and knowledge for working in entry-level roles across the community services sector. It focuses on supporting individuals in a range of settings, including aged care, youth work, disability support, and family services. The qualification develops practical competencies such as effective communication, ethical practice, cultural awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively within professional boundaries. Learners gain an understanding of client needs, empowerment, and referral processes, while also building resilience and self-awareness for working in often complex environments. Overall, Cert III in Community Services prepares students to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of individuals and communities while establishing a pathway for further study or employment in the sector.
This course is also a great opportunity for students to addresses a shortfall of workers in some of Australia's fastest growing employment sectors. Aligned with Aged Care, students will build upon the practical skills gained in the Year 10 iGEN Learning Program to enhance their communication, collaboration and client support skills, that are immediately transferable to a range of workplace settings.
The iGEN Learning program is a partnership that was founded between Mercy Health, Australian Catholic University, and Catherine McAuley College Bendigo, and has now grown to include other Mercy Education and Mercy Affiliated schools around Australia. iGEN Learning connects students and residents in aged care or senior living in a meaningful intergenerational program that enriches the lives of all participants. This nationally recognised certificate is the next step in the iGEN Learning program, and aligns the student experience with career pathway opportunities that build upon service within the Mercy community, connection to others, and improved interpersonal skills gained through the Year 10 program.
