We are happy to announce our Pathways Open House for New Families! At ANS we are committed to honoring children's natural curiosity as the driver of early learning. Our Pathways program for 3 and 4 year-olds is a model of academic excellence and foundation of ethical global leadership. Let's spread the word, so new families can join our strong community!
Summer Camp
It will be a summer full of learning, leadership, wellness, fitness, explorations and fun! Kids will become Earth Guardians, Vision Voyagers, Global Pioneers, Friendship Champions and most importantly prepare them for their rising academic school year. Don't miss out on our Fun Fridays, where they will engage in fun and dynamic games! Including a Splash-tacular Day with lots of water games, they'll become artists with a Color Blast of creativity, they'll enjoy flicks with their favorite movies and wrapping up they'll be All Stars!
MAP Testing
Over the next three weeks, third - ninth graders will take the MAP Reading and Math tests. This is our End of Year (EOY) test window. The testing schedule is outlined below. Primary students will take the MAP test in the computer labs, with their teachers, during class time.
The MAP tests are directly aligned to our Mathematics and Reading curricula. The data that we gather helps us identify both school wide achievement levels and individual student performance data. After testing, parents will receive notification once the MAP scores and full report are accessible in their child(ren)’s e-locker on the Parent PlusPortal. Students will set goals for their learning, in conferences with their teacher.
MAP testing gives teachers, support staff, students and parents an opportunity to check in on progress made this school year. It allows us to partner with students to reflect on their progress so far, and to revise goals set for ongoing growth. The MAP test is an adaptive, computer-generated test, meaning it adapts each question to the appropriate level of your child’s learning, which helps students maintain a positive attitude toward testing.
At ANS, we use MAP test performance as one of a wide variety of assessment data. The best preparation for improved performance on MAP is commitment to one’s learning journey and ongoing improvement in formative assessment. Your child(ren)’s attendance and punctuality is essential to the efficient administration of these tests. Like all school days, your child(ren)’s presence is invaluable in their educational journey. As always, please make sure your child(ren) has a good night’s sleep, eats a healthy breakfast and arrives to school on time.
