Ezra 2:2. Is Jesus or Yeshua in the Old Testament?
The Meaning of NAMES in the Bible!
*** What Does Ezra 2:2 TRULY mean?
Here is Ezra 2:2 from the KJV. “Which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:”
There is a hidden prophecy of Jesus in the meanings of the names.
The name Israel means, he shall rule as God.
Zerubbabel is a figure of Jesus being made the King over the earth during the world to come for 1000 years.
The name Jeshua is a figure of Jesus being the Messiah.
And the other names are figures of the joint-heirs with Jesus.
In other words, we will rule and reign with Jesus over the whole earth during the world to come.
And the Jews will be the head and no longer the tail during the Millennial reign of Jesus.

Hidden Prophecies in the Meanings of Names!
Here is the Hebrew word that means Yeshua or in the KJV it is spelled as Jeshua.
יֵשׁוּעַ
The name Jeshua in the KJV or more correctly Yeshua, which means the salvation of Yahweh or the WAY in which Yahweh SAVES.
The Meaning of NAMES in the Bible!
Some Names Tell us a STORY!
For example, in Ezra 2:1,2 we find a list of names of the children who came out of captivity in Babylon.
And in the MEANINGS of those NAMES we can see a PROPHECY of the Messiah.
Let us first read Ezra 2:2,2 from the King James Version of the Bible.
And then, I will explain the meaning of their NAMES that tell the story of the Messiah prevailing over Satan and the fallen angels to SAVE the children of the WORLD.
Ezra 2:1,2.
“Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away into Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;
Ezra 2:2. Which came with (Or the children that came from) Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel.”
#1. Zerubbabel means descended from Babylon or one who was BORN there.
Babylon represents the world and Zerubbabel is a FIGURE of Jesus who was BORN in the world.
And because of the obedience of Jesus to die on the cross for the sin of the world, God made him the Messiah or the atonement for sins.
Thus the name Jeshua, or more correctly Yeshua, is picturing the Messiah.
#2. Jeshua means, he will SAVE. Hence, the Hebrew spelling as Yeshua is the Messiah.
So then, the CHILDREN of Yeshua are Nehemiah.
#3. Nehemiah means the consolation of Yah, as in, those who are consoled or comforted by Jesus.
In other words, Jesus teaches us that he has OVERCOME the world, and through Christ, the anointing helps us overcome the world.
#4. Seraiah means Yah has prevailed.
#5. Reelaiah means made to TREMBLE, as in, Yah has SHAKEN.
And of the following are six names. Mispar means enumeration or to make a list.
Rheum, spelled Nahamani in Nehemiah 7:7, and it means consolatory, to have pity, and to avenge.
And Baanah means, being in affliction.
Now, Mordecai we know was falsely accused and a gallow was prepared by his accuser to hang Mordecai.
But Modecia was proven innocent and his accuser was hanged.
Here are the six names as they are spelled in Ezra 2:2.
#6. Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah.
So then, who do these six people plus the first five names represent? The rest of the verse says the following.
#7. The number of men of the PEOPLE. The Hebrew word translated as “men” is NOT “Adam”, which means human or mortal men.
But rather, it is the Hebrew word “'ı̂ysh”, Strong’s number H376, which means extant or the editing ones.
And the Hebrew word translated as “people” also means TROOPS.
So then, the phrase “the number of men of the people” could represent the number of the existing ones of the TROOPS in the previous age of the world.
For you see, the fallen angels are the FALSE accusers of the brethren.
And like Mordecai was proven INNOCENT the children of Zerubabel will be proven innocent through the blood of Yeshua.
#8. Israel means he shall rule as God. In other words, the one BORN in this world is Yeshua, who will SAVE the world by being GIVEN a NEW NAME, the name Yah to rule as God over the earth in the world to come.

The purpose of this study is not to form any church doctrine.
But rather, it is to encourage my readers to dig deeper into the Scriptures.
And there are many passages of Scripture that have lists of names that tell a story that is also found in the Bible.
Another example in Proverbs 30:1-4.
Proverbs 30:1.
“The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,”
#1. Agur means gatherer or received.
#2. Jakeh means obedient.
Even the PROPHECY, the MAN who spoke unto Ithiel.
#3. Ithiel means God has arrived.
#4. Ucal means devoured.
To me, I see that Jakeh is a figure of Jesus, and Agur symbolizes all who believe in Jesus to be received into glory or gathered together at the coming of Jesus.
Ithiel speaks of God Himself coming down out of heaven at the end of the Millennial reign of Jesus for the White throne judgment.
And Jesus speaks to Yahweh as our mediator and accuses Satan as a LYING God and FALSE accuser of the brethren.
And then, Yahweh DEVOURS Ucal which represents all of those cast into the lake of fire to be consumed to ashes.

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
