El meu treball es centra en les històries de brigadistes poc coneguts, concretament els que van passar per l’hospital de S’Agaró (Baix Empordà). Els brigadistes eren voluntaris estrangers que van venir a la Guerra Civil a col•laborar amb la República. En saber de l’existència de persones amb aquest sentiment tan altruista em va fer decidir a emprendre aquest treball. He pogut fer la biografia de 28 brigadistes que van passar per S’Agaró gràcies a fonts primàries extretes dels documents digitalitzats d’Albacete. Aquesta ha estat la part més difícil del meu treball ja que la web estava en rus. El fet de trobar aquest problema d’idioma va fer més feixuga la meva cerca però alhora molt més interessant. Aquest treball m’ha donat l’oportunitat de saber més sobre els brigadistes internacionals i, fins i tot, he pogut llegir cartes escrites per ells mateixos. Al final d’aquest treball he pogut determinar que l’antitrotskisme rus ha influït molt en les decisions preses sobre els brigadistes i així com a tota la Guerra Civil. També he observat una característica comú entre ells: el seu fort sentiment antifeixista.

My project is about the lives of the lesser-known members of the International Brigades, particularly those who stayed at the hospital of S’Agaró (Baix Empordà). The members of the brigades were foreign volunteers who fought in the Spanish Civil War to assist the Republic. When I knew about their existence I decided to learn more about them. I have been able to write the biography of 28 brigadiers that stayed in S’Agaró after consulting the digital records in the Provincial Archives of Albacete. This has been the most challenging phase since the website was in Russian. Facing this problem has made my research rather difficult yet at the same time more fascinating. This research has given me the opportunity to find out more about the brigadiers and even read letters written by themselves. At the end of this project I could learn that Russian anti Trotskyism had strongly influenced the decisions both on the brigadiers and the Spanish war in general. I’ve also found a common feature among all the brigadiers: their outspoken anti-fascist feelings.
