Què és la bellesa? Per què alguns objectes ens criden més l’atenció? La resposta, tot i ser estrany, es troba en les matemàtiques. Sí, el nombre irracional Phi provoca que determinats objectes que ens envolten i mantenen la proporció àuria siguin més bells, ens cridin l’atenció sense saber el perquè.

Ara bé, què té a veure amb Salvador Dalí?

En aquest treball, després d’una explicació sobre la proporció divina, la seva trajectòria al llarg del temps i la creació de diferents figures geomètriques, el meu objectiu va ser demostrar la seva existència, i per tant bellesa, en algunes de les obres que es troben al Teatre-Museu Dalí de Figueres. D’aquesta manera vaig poder donar a conèixer el perquè de la distribució, la mida o la presència de determinats objectes que apareixen en les obres dalinianes, tal i com queda reflectit en el meu llibre titulat Visita al Teatre-Museu Dalí a través de la mirada del Phi.

What defines beauty? What is the reason why we feel attracted to some objects? The answer is found in mathematics. The irrational number Phi highlights beauty in those objects that surround us and maintain the Golden proportion. This proportion makes them outstanding to us. Even though there is no logical explanation for that.

However, what does it have to do witch Salvador Dalí?

Within this project I explained what divine proportion was, its evolution throughout history and the creation of several geometric figures. My main objective was to prove its existence and so the beauty in some of Dalí’s work, which is currently exhibited at the Dalí Theatre and Museum in Figueres. This way I was able to let people know about the reason of these objects distribution, their size and shape in Dalí’s work. All my research is reflected in my book which is named Visit to Dalí Theatre and Museum through Phi.
