Community Engagement Advisory Committee

Charge:

The Community Engagement Advisory Group, created as part of RISD’s Strategic Plan [RISD Next 2020-2027], works to coordinate and centralize the collaborative structures, campus-wide frameworks, and communications that support and enhance RISD's engagement with local and global communities. As part of its work, it will review and implement the recommendations of the Community Engagement Task Force with the understanding that some actions will be immediate and others may require long-term implementation plans inclusive of community and leadership input. Regularly report on progress to the President via the Chief of Staff.


Meeting Schedule and Membership:

The Executive Director for the Center for Community Partnerships serves as chair of the committee. The Committee membership is reviewed and reassigned by the President annually in consultation with the chair.


The Committee meets monthly for an hour and a half. Meeting dates change each month to accommodate different schedules.

K-12 Advisory Committee

Charge:

The K-12 Advisory Committee serves as a subcommittee of the Community Engagement Advisory Group. The K-12 Advisory Committee works specifically to advocate for the value of art and design in all facets of education; better communicate program and engagement opportunities for schools, teachers, and students; and open avenues of access to these opportunities.


Meeting Schedule and Membership:

The Executive Director for the Center for Community Partnerships serves as chair of the committee. The chair reports any areas of concern or need for action to the Chief of Staff throughout the year.


Committee membership is reviewed and reassigned by the Executive Director, Center for Community Partnerships, in consultation with the President.


The Committee meets monthly for an hour and a half. Meeting dates change each month to accommodate different schedules.
