Fringe
Fringe can be a big budget surprise. When considering if you have enough funds to make a hire or when preparing a grant or sponsorship proposal, please keep in mind to calculate the fringe rate to have a clear picture of costs. Please note that fringe rate applies to all non-student employees, non-employment agency temporaries, exempt and non-exempt. The fringe benefit allocation is now charged based on three rates =>

·         full time employees at 33%

·         part time employees at 15%, and

·         PT non-eligible staff & temporary employees at 7.65%
