1. Adding the Cost Center Workbench Worklet
To add the report to your Workday home screen, click on the wheel icon.
Under Optional Worklets, click the ‘+’ sign to add a new line, then search for and select Cost Center Workbench.
At the bottom of the screen, click OK, then Done.
The icon will appear under the Applications list on your home screen.
2. Using the Cost Center Work Bench
Click on the Cost Center WorkBench icon to open the report.
This will open the Operating Expense Budget Summary for the departments (cost centers) in your area. The blue numbers are all links; click any number in the Actuals column to see the transaction-level detail for that number. To open up more lines, click the arrows to the left.
At the bottom of the table, you can click View More.
This will open a filter, where you can run a report on a specific department (cost center), object code (spend category, like postage, course costs, etc.), or activity code. Right now this report will only return Fund 10 (your operating budget) information, and your Fund 11 (capital) spending.
A few additional notes:
Viewing of salary lines is limited at this time. We will refine this access area further as needed in the coming weeks and months.
Capital budgets are loaded into Workday as ‘Projects’ (you will see this field pop up on a number of Workday forms) and Project Budgets have not been converted yet. You can see actual spending for now, and the budgets will be loaded soon. If you have any questions about your capital budgets contact Janine Connelly or Ned Draper.
Reporting on gifts and grants will be via a separate report form which is forthcoming
