Academic and Student Affairs Committee

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee (Committee) is appointed by the Board of Trustees (Board) of Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to assist the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for RISD’s academic and student life programs.  The Committee is charged with monitoring and evaluating those programs for compliance with RISD’s mission, strategy, and policies and for effectiveness in achieving a meaningful, supportive, and integrated academic and student life experience for RISD students.

 Academic and Student Affairs Committee Composition According to Committee Charter

 The Committee will consist of the following members:

·         At least five Trustees, serving as voting members;

·         At least one member of the faculty and one representative from each of the Undergraduate and Graduate Student Alliances recommended by the President, serving as non-voting members;

·         Such number of additional members, from such additional constituencies, as may be deemed appropriate and appointed by the Chair of the Board, serving as non-voting members; and

·         The Chair and Vice Chairs of the Board, the President, the Provost, and the chief Student Life officer, serving as non-voting ex officio members.
