The Second Quarter of the 2026 Sabbath School lessons presents a deeply practical and spiritual journey—one that begins with a “Reality Check” and culminates “Into Eternity.” This progressive series is designed to awaken the soul, deepen the understanding of truth, and prepare God’s people for the final events of earth’s history.
In a time when the world is filled with deception, confusion, and spiritual complacency, these lessons serve as a divine call to return to the foundation of true Christianity—a personal knowledge of God, a transformed character, and an active life of faith and mission.
The opening lesson, Reality Check, confronts us with the urgent need to examine our spiritual condition. Like the Laodicean message (Revelation 3:14–22), it calls for honesty, repentance, and a recognition of our true standing before God. Without this awakening, all further spiritual growth becomes superficial.
From there, the study moves into To Know God, emphasizing that eternal life is not merely a future promise but a present experience (John 17:3). True religion is not formalism, but a living connection with Christ—knowing His character, His will, and His voice.
The following lessons contrast Pride Versus Humility, revealing that the great controversy between Christ and Satan is reflected in the human heart. Pride leads to rebellion and separation from God, while humility opens the way for divine grace and transformation.
A strong emphasis is then placed on the Word of God—The Role of the Bible and How to Study the Bible—highlighting that Scripture is the final authority in faith and practice. In an age of human opinions and false teachings, the Bible remains the only safe guide. Proper study, guided by the Holy Spirit, leads to truth, reformation, and spiritual stability.
The next section focuses on the believer’s communion with God through prayer—Prayer Warriors and Practical Prayer. These lessons teach that prayer is not merely a duty but a powerful means of victory, spiritual warfare, and personal transformation. A prayerless life is a powerless life.
Faith then becomes central in Having Faith, where believers are reminded that trust in God’s promises sustains them through trials and uncertainties. This leads naturally into a deeper understanding of salvation in Sin, the Gospel, and the Law, where the harmony between God’s justice and mercy is revealed.
The experience of salvation continues through Repentance and Forgiveness, showing that true repentance brings genuine transformation, not just confession. This is followed by Setbacks, acknowledging that the Christian journey includes struggles, failures, and trials—but also victory through Christ.
The final lessons turn outward and forward. Share Him calls every believer to participate in the great gospel commission, reflecting the character of Christ through service and witnessing. Finally, Into Eternity lifts our vision beyond this present world to the glorious future God has prepared for His faithful people.
This quarter’s lessons are not merely theoretical—they are experiential and preparatory. They call for:
Heart searching rather than mere intellectual study
Transformation rather than information
Active faith rather than passive belief
Mission involvement rather than spiritual isolation
In the light of Bible prophecy and the Spirit of Prophecy, this series aligns with the final message of preparation for God’s people. It reflects the call to:
Sigh and cry for abominations (Ezekiel 9)
Experience true revival and reformation
Be sealed with the truth
Stand ready for the establishment of God’s kingdom
As taught in the Scriptures and supported by inspired writings, God is preparing a people who will reflect His character fully before the close of probation.
This quarter is a spiritual pathway:
From awakening → to knowing God → to transformation → to mission → to eternity
Each lesson builds upon the previous one, leading the believer step by step into a deeper, more committed Christian experience.
