SS25-Q1-L6-God's LOVE of Justice

February 1-7, 2025

Sabbath Afternoon–February 1, 2025

Scripture Reading for the Week:

Ps. 33:5, Ps. 85:10, Deut. 32:4, James 1:17, Titus 1:2, Exod. 32:14, Matt. 5:43-48

Thought for Meditation

There are those who will question God's love and His justice in visiting so severe punishment for words spoken in the heat of passion. But both love and justice require it to be shown that utterances prompted by malice against God are a great sin. The retribution visited upon the first offender would be a warning to others, that God's name is to be held in reverence. But had this man's sin been permitted to pass unpunished, others would have been demoralized; and as the result many lives must eventually have been sacrificed.  {PP 408.2}

Memory Verse

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.  {Jer. 9:24)

a 14:4}
"This week's Sabbath School lesson will deepen the understanding of God's nature and how His love, justice, righteousness, and changelessness manifest in His dealings with the world. It's crucial to highlight that these attributes work in harmony to reflect God's character and His ultimate purpose for humanity, which is salvation. As believers, understanding these attributes strengthens the relationship with God, enhances personal righteousness, and fosters a compassionate worldview.

The theme revolves around understanding and experiencing God's attributes of love, justice, goodness, and changelessness. These themes are not only deeply rooted in Scripture but are also pivotal in the Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) and Shepherd’s Rod (SRod) literatures, which provide insightful perspectives on God’s character and His interactions with humanity.
