Rodney Cornell coached at Osbourn Park for a total of 14 years 1998 – 2012. 7 years as a Varsity Assistant Coach, then became the Varsity Head Coach in 2005. He coached as the Varsity Head Coach for 7 years.

After stepping down as the Head Coach of Osbourn Park, Cornell served as an assistant coach for four years at a few different Northern Virginia high schools before becoming the Head Coach at Colgan High School for five seasons. While at Colgan High School, Cornell won 3 District Championships in four years (*2020 season cut short due to covid).
Cornell is currently the Head Coach at Woodson High School in Fairfax, VA. He is entering his fifth season there as the Head Coach. Since taking over in 2022, Woodson has reached the Regional Semi-Finals each season in a powerhouse region!
Coming up just short of advancing to the VHSL 6A State Tournament (top eight teams in the state) by only one loss every season there, consistently succeeding and coming so close to reaching that goal.
Thus far, Cornell has an all-time record of 159 wins and 95 loses as a Head Coach. He has the 8th most wins all time for 6A Boys Lacrosse Head Coaches in Virginia.
Cornell resides in Gainesville, VA and is a Certification Coordinator for an international audio visual and IT association called AVIXA based out of Fairfax, VA. Cornell loves sports, the outdoors, movies, and spending time with family and friends.
