Larry Nemerow started coaching at Osbourn Park High School in 1984 and was a biology teacher there starting in 1985. His first coaching assignment was girls varsity soccer in 1984. He continued coaching at OP until his retirement in 2016. He was responsible for three different varsity programs during that time: girls soccer, girls basketball, and boys soccer. A state runner up twice in boys soccer, Larry led a significant number of district and regional championship teams with the Yellow Jackets.
During his coaching career Larry built quite the resume.

Notable: at one point or another Larry was able to coach or coach with all four of his children - all of whom are OP graduates and all spent time as coaches themselves in PWCS (3 continue to coach in the county now, while his daughter Rebecca is the women's basketball coach at Longwood University.
In the late 1990's, Larry was responsible for bringing the first specialty program to Osbourn Park. When that program was transferred to Freedom High School, Larry went on to develop and implement the Biotech Program at Osbourn Park and served as its coordinator for eleven years..
Larry has fourteen grandchildren and they all live close enough so that he gets to see them play. Many of them enjoying the same sports that Coach Nemerow played and coached.
Larry considers himself lucky enough to spend most of his time with his best friend and lifelong companion, Lynn. They live on a property filled with nature and space and feel like they live in the middle of a park. He spends time gardening, watching local animals and his gardens, and working in his woodworking shop. He rides his bike from his house nearly every day accumulating 3000+ miles each year.
