Anthony Arena re-established the Boys’ Distance Program at Osbourn Park to stand alongside the highly accomplished Boys of the 1970’s and 1980’s. Leading from the front, Anthony was the pre-eminent distance athlete in the Cedar Run District earning a OPTF record – 10 individual Cedar Run District titles: setting meet championship records and establishing the baseline that has led to the Cedar Run District being the most competitive District at the 6A level.
Anthony’s leadership and performance in the Championship Season helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the 2003 Triple Crown. The Boys of Osbourn Park won the 2002 Cedar Run District Cross Country Championship along with the 2003 Indoor and Outdoor Titles, a first and only one in school history!
Anthony was competitive beyond the Cedar Run District; he was All Northwest Region in Cross Country and Track. He qualified for AAA State Championships in Cross Country and Track (4) times.
