Lea began playing soccer when she was six years old in Irvine, California. Her father kick started her passion for the game after making her run home after she spent her first soccer game picking flowers. She decided that she was not interested in running home again, so she actually hustled in her second game and scored her first goal, which led to a childhood drive to succeed on the field.
