Justin McElfish was a 3-sport varsity athlete while at OPHS earning 9 varsity letters He participated in football, basketball, and track & field. His senior year, Justin stepped away from the basketball court to focus on off-season football training and indoor track during the winter season, allowing him to further succeed in the outdoor track season and obtain a football scholarship from the University of Richmond.

Justin accepted a scholarship from the University of Richmond to play football. While at Richmond Justin was a 3-year starter on the offensive line in numerous positions. During his time at Richmond, he helped the Spiders win 2 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships (1998, 2000) while breaking numerous offensive rushing records as a group. His Junior year at Richmond, Justin was approached by the Track Coach about joining the Track team. With blessings from the Coach Reid and the football staff, Justin competed for 2 seasons on the Spider track team where he placed 1st in numerous invitational meets and was an Atlantic 10 Conference Champion in the Shot Put. Justin still holds the school record in the shot put at the University of Richmond with a throw of 53’3”
After college Justin was signed as Free Agent by the Washington Redskins. While not making the team that year, Justin spent the next 3 years playing professional football between the NFL and Arena Football League.
