Description: Erect herbs, leaves simple, opposite decussate, sparsely scabrous, eliptic-oblong, sessile. Flowers are four lobed and arranged in capitates inflorescence. They are small, sessile, usually many flowered clusters by the pair of bract-like leaves. Calyx is 4 lobed with 2 long and 2 short, linear-lanceolate, sepal cup and flat. Petals are glabrous with 4 lobes. Androecium consist of stamens. Ovary is 2 celled, filiform style, exerted. Fruit is usually a capsule.
Phenology: November–December
Uses: It is used in the treatment of malaria, diarrhea. And other digestive problems, skin diseases, fever, urinary and respiratory infections, head ache and inflammation of eye.
