Description: It is a plant with submerged roots and stems. Leaves are submerged, slightly about the water surface. Floating leaves have undulated surface. Flower is usually white or blue in colour. Calyx is cup like. 14 to 15 petals making the flower star shaped. Anthers are many . Ovary is sunken and many loculed . Fruit 8s reddish or brownish colour capsule.
Phenology : August - November
Uses: rhizome is used as vegetable, used to treat indigestion, liver disorders, menstruation problem, diabetes, inflammation etc.
