Description: It is an evergreen shrub. Leaves are leathery, oblong. Inflorescence is dichasial cyme. Flowers are red in colour, epipetalous. Calyx tube having 4 sepals, persistent. Petals 4, fused with corolla. Stamens are attached to throat of corolla tube. Ovary is exserted. Fruit is a berry.

Uses: Used for decorative purposes, Used to treat diarrohea, dysentery, fever, loss of appetite.
